(1-6,Joanne ) You two know me! (1-1,Robin ) (1-2,Mike ) Yea, but we want to know more! go right (1-2,Mike ) ahead and don't hold back! (1-1,Robin ) Twas probably all set up over suchi.. (1-6,Joanne ) I'm a math major who joined AV straight (1-6,Joanne ) outta college as an intern, (1-2,Mike ) hehe (1-6,Joanne ) working 12 hours/week. (1-6,Joanne ) ha ha ha Robin! (1-2,Mike ) 12 hours weeks! (1-1,Robin ) How did U make a transition like that? From math to a magazine? (1-6,Joanne ) AT that time, there were only 5 of us on (1-6,Joanne ) board, and the opportunities were endless. (1-2,Mike ) I'm thinking 12hour days... (1-6,Joanne ) Some people would say logic. (1-6,Joanne ) I've had those, too, Mike! (1-2,Mike ) I see! (1-8,Michael Robinson) Hi guys (1-2,Mike ) Were you/Av alway in DC? Hey Michael! (1-6,Joanne ) Hi Michael! (1-6,Joanne ) Yes, always in DC. (1-1,Robin ) Hi, Michael. :) (1-6,Joanne ) The magazine was started within the (1-6,Joanne ) Smithsonian Institution. (1-8,Michael Robinson) What's going on today? (1-2,Mike ) Joanne from AV is our Guest for this month's Conference. We celebrate the anniversary of the Forum! (1-6,Joanne ) AT the National Museum of American (1-6,Joanne ) History. (1-6,Joanne ) Hi, Lucette. (1-6,Joanne ) We were with the Smithsonian for the first (1-6,Joanne ) five years; (1-1,Robin ) Hi, Lucette. :) (1-3,Lucette Mercer) Hi, Joanne. just listenigg (1-6,Joanne ) AV is in its 10th year of publication. (1-3,Lucette Mercer) HELLO ROIN (1-2,Mike ) Hi Lucette (1-3,Lucette Mercer) ROBIN (1-2,Mike ) AV tenth year? (1-3,Lucette Mercer) HI MIKE (1-6,Joanne ) yep (1-2,Mike ) No newcomer for sure! (1-6,Joanne ) We started publishing in '86. (1-8,Michael Robinson) How do you keep up with all the newsprint price increases? (1-2,Mike ) good Q mike (1-6,Joanne ) It's difficult, especially now, with the market (1-6,Joanne ) for paper so precarious. (1-6,Joanne ) But we budget in ways that don't affect our (1-6,Joanne ) subscribers-- (1-8,Michael Robinson) Do you have plans to increase your newstand presence. I've never seen it on a newstand in New York? (1-1,Robin ) Guess I should go catch up w/the family. Keep up the good work, Jo! :) (1-6,Joanne ) we haven't raised subscription prices in the (1-6,Joanne ) 10 years we've been in business! (1-6,Joanne ) Thanks, Robin. (1-1,Robin ) Bye (1-6,Joanne ) I'll keep you in my thoughts. (1-2,Mike ) How have your goals/visions changed since your (1-2,Mike ) first started with AV (responsibilities etc.) (1-6,Joanne ) Yes, we do, Michael. (1-3,Lucette Mercer) BYE ROBIN (1-2,Mike ) Bye Tweety Huggs stay in there! (1-8,Michael Robinson) What are your subscription rates? (1-6,Joanne ) AV has never been a newsstand (1-6,Joanne ) publication. (1-6,Joanne ) $18/year (1-3,Lucette Mercer) BYE ALL (1-6,Joanne ) Quite a bit, Mike. (1-6,Joanne ) bye, Lucette. (1-2,Mike ) by Lucette thanks for coming! (1-2,Mike ) How so Joanne? (1-6,Joanne ) AV started out as a scholarly publication, (1-6,Joanne ) and I think that that's where SI wanted it to (1-6,Joanne ) stay. (1-6,Joanne ) We started out doing a lot more history than (1-6,Joanne ) we do now, (1-8,Michael Robinson) Who is your competition? (1-6,Joanne ) and we covered a lot of topics that you no (1-6,Joanne ) longer find in the mag--religion, sports and (1-6,Joanne ) society, etc. (1-6,Joanne ) About five years ago, we loosened up the (1-6,Joanne ) mag to include such departments as (1-6,Joanne ) cuisine, travel, music, film, etc. (1-6,Joanne ) In terms of our niche, we have no direct (1-6,Joanne ) competition, Michael. (1-6,Joanne ) In terms of ad dollars, (1-6,Joanne ) the other black magazines. (1-8,Michael Robinson) Why did you stop sports? I'm a sports nut. Houston and Phoeniz play in a few minutes, a pivotal 7th game. (1-8,Michael Robinson) How would you describe your niche? (1-6,Joanne ) No one else is doing culture. (1-2,Mike ) I noticed the abundance of rich History Files. (1-2,Mike ) So this was the true focus in the beginning? (1-6,Joanne ) AV describes its readers as "culture (1-6,Joanne ) vultures." (1-6,Joanne ) Yes, there was more of a focus on history in (1-6,Joanne ) the beginning. (1-6,Joanne ) We still do history, though, Mike. (1-6,Joanne ) There's always a history feature in the mag, (1-6,Joanne ) and many of our stories have a (1-6,Joanne ) historical focus. (1-2,Mike ) How far does the subcriber base go, outside (1-2,Mike ) the U.S? I thought I remembe reading a letter (1-2,Mike ) in the Mag from someone outside the U.S. (1-6,Joanne ) It does, but it's concentrated in the US. (1-6,Joanne ) We have subscribers in Europe, Africa, etc. (1-6,Joanne ) It's not unusual, for example, for genealogy (1-6,Joanne ) queries to receive answers from Africa. (1-2,Mike ) I see (1-2,Mike ) What are some new things your would like to see (1-2,Mike ) happen as AV continues to unfold to the public? (1-6,Joanne ) AV is still growing. (1-8,Michael Robinson) I have to leave. Thanks for the info on the magazine Jo. Take care Michael. Until next time. GO KNICKS. (1-6,Joanne ) bye Michael! (1-6,Joanne ) thanks for stopping by (1-2,Mike ) Yes Go Knicks! Bye Michael! (1-2,Mike ) What info can you give on the Magazines (1-2,Mike ) Founder his goals and visions and how AV Came about? (1-6,Joanne ) Wait--still answering the last question. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) HI GANG CAN I JOIN IN. (1-6,Joanne ) In what ways is AV growing? (1-2,Mike ) Yes Aminata and Welcome! (1-3,Aminata Danquah) WHATS THE TOPIC? (1-2,Mike ) Yes how AV is growing! (1-6,Joanne ) Our subscription base is growing. (1-6,Joanne ) Eventually, we will have a larger presence (1-6,Joanne ) on the newsstand. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) WHAT WHAT IS AV? (1-2,Mike ) Joanne is our Guest she is from American (1-2,Mike ) Visions our Forum Sponsor (1-6,Joanne ) AV=American Visions magazine, the sponsor (1-6,Joanne ) of this forum. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) OH REALLY. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) JOANNE I WORKED A BLACK (1-3,Aminata Danquah) MUSEUM FOR YEARS IN DETROIT. (1-6,Joanne ) Hi, Aminata, Mallik. Mallik) HI (1-2,Mike ) Hi Mallik (1-3,Aminata Danquah) Detroit Museum of Afr. Amer (1-3,Aminata Danquah) Detroit Museum of Afr Amer Hist (1-6,Joanne ) I'm familiar with it! (1-6,Joanne ) AV has worked with the African American (1-6,Joanne ) Museums Association. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) your publication is great (1-6,Joanne ) Our publisher was president of that (1-6,Joanne ) association for a year. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) i know, i have worked with (1-6,Joanne ) thank you! (1-3,Aminata Danquah) your orgranization in the past. (1-7,F. Mallik) I'll hang out and listen a while til I know the topic (1-6,Joanne ) Have you? In what capacity? (1-6,Joanne ) Mallik, we're talking about American Visions (1-6,Joanne ) magazine, the sponsor of this forum. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) The annual Afri. Amer. Museums Conferences (1-6,Joanne ) yes! (1-2,Mike ) Aminata how have you enjoyed the Magazine. (1-2,Mike ) F Mallik this is "Ask Joanne" the AV editor, (1-2,Mike ) sponsor of our Forum. We celebrate the forums (1-2,Mike ) 1st Aniversary! (1-6,Joanne ) The last one I attended was in Philly. (1-9,Klu) Hello. You art fanatics. What interests you most? (1-6,Joanne ) Hi, Klu. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) it (1-3,Aminata Danquah) its full of valuable (1-3,Aminata Danquah) historical info on us. (1-7,F. Mallik) ok (1-9,Klu) Hi.....what art fascinates you most??? (1-6,Joanne ) We're talking about a magazine that (1-6,Joanne ) focuses on the arts, Klu, American Visions. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) joanne i need to (1-9,Klu) I have my own magazine for art. Wanna (1-9,Klu) subscribe?? (1-3,Aminata Danquah) renew my subscrob (1-3,Aminata Danquah) how do i do it? (1-9,Klu [74212,1205]) Klu invites you to /JOIN 9 (1-6,Joanne ) I was just telling Mike that the magazine (1-6,Joanne ) really broadened its scope about 5 years (1-6,Joanne ) ago, (1-2,Mike ) Where in Conference can't join (1-6,Joanne ) any number of ways (1-3,Aminata Danquah) I want to subscribe again, how? (1-6,Joanne ) You can send a message to us here, to (1-6,Joanne ) 72662,2631. (1-6,Joanne ) That's if you'd like to do it as a bill-me. (1-6,Joanne ) Or you can ask that we send you a (1-6,Joanne ) subscription renewal form. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) can you send me the yes (1-3,Aminata Danquah) thanks. (1-2,Mike ) Joanne the Magazine has interviewed Camille (1-2,Mike ) Cosby and many other great Guests it is difficult (1-2,Mike ) getting these interviews, and I know it (1-2,Mike ) must! (1-3,Aminata Danquah) jo, ill be in touch. (1-6,Joanne ) OK Aminata (1-6,Joanne ) Not difficult at all. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) is anyone familiar with (1-6,Joanne ) (In most cases.) (1-3,Aminata Danquah) the all-women's (1-3,Aminata Danquah) jazz band STRAIGHT AHEAD? (1-8,Aubrey V.) hello.. (1-7,F. Mallik) what are the mags plans for the future (1-2,Mike ) Hello Aubrey (1-6,Joanne ) Camille Cosby rarely grants interviews, but (1-6,Joanne ) she respects the magazine, and she saw it (1-6,Joanne ) as an outlet for her most recent endeavors. (1-6,Joanne ) Hi Aubrey! (1-6,Joanne ) I am, Aminata. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) jo, have you heard of straight ahead? (1-2,Mike ) That was great Camille consented! (1-6,Joanne ) But then there are others who use their (1-6,Joanne ) fame in different ways. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) have they been (1-7,F. Mallik) I've heard of straight ahead they're good (1-3,Aminata Danquah) have they appeared in av (1-6,Joanne ) Forrest Whitaker, for example, refused to (1-6,Joanne ) interviewed for the mag unless he could be (1-6,Joanne ) guaranteed the cover. (1-6,Joanne ) not yet (1-2,Mike ) wow! (1-3,Aminata Danquah) I I mange (1-3,Aminata Danquah) I manage them (1-6,Joanne ) Would you like to recommend them? (1-3,Aminata Danquah) I (1-3,Aminata Danquah) I would love for you (1-3,Aminata Danquah) to interview them. (1-6,Joanne ) He felt that he's been covered by the black (1-6,Joanne ) press, and he wants to break into the (1-6,Joanne ) mainstream. (1-2,Mike ) oh well (1-6,Joanne ) Can you send me some press materials, (1-6,Joanne ) Aminata? (1-3,Aminata Danquah) mallik where are you (1-3,Aminata Danquah) yes, jo (1-2,Mike ) Who are some of the other notables? (1-7,F. Mallik) nyc, harlem (1-3,Aminata Danquah) they will be in dc on friday (1-6,Joanne ) Personalities on the cover is a new thrust (1-6,Joanne ) for AV. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) blues alley (1-6,Joanne ) We used to do just art on the cover. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) mallik what is your (1-3,Aminata Danquah) e-mail (1-6,Joanne ) But the year before last, we put Judith (1-6,Joanne ) Jamison on the cover, when she released (1-6,Joanne ) her autobiography. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) ill forward you future (1-3,Aminata Danquah) schedules. (1-2,Mike ) Interesting (1-6,Joanne ) Then last February, we put Arsenio Hall on (1-6,Joanne ) the cover, with a photo of one of his own (1-6,Joanne ) abstract paintings. (1-7,F. Mallik) 76653,17 (1-6,Joanne ) Both of those issues sold really well, and (1-6,Joanne ) opened our eyes. (1-2,Mike ) Didn't know he painted! (1-6,Joanne ) There's a reason magazines put (1-6,Joanne ) personalities on their covers! (1-2,Mike ) How did find out such info? Detective work (1-3,Aminata Danquah) thans mallik (1-6,Joanne ) Despite our focus on art, we thought we (1-6,Joanne ) would give it a try. (1-6,Joanne ) Yes, Arsenio paints to relieve stress. (1-7,F. Mallik) Aminata give me yours (1-3,Aminata Danquah) ]76744,25 (1-2,Mike ) I loved the Mario and Melvin Cover! (1-6,Joanne ) I did, too! (1-3,Aminata Danquah) jo, i'll be in touch about straight ahead. (1-6,Joanne ) OK. I look forward to it. (1-6,Joanne ) Will you be in DC for the Blues Alley gig? (1-6,Joanne ) Detective work, yes. (1-3,Aminata Danquah) well gang i must go, see ya (1-7,F. Mallik) where are you Aminata (1-3,Aminata Danquah) later (1-6,Joanne ) bye (1-3,Aminata Danquah) detroit (1-2,Mike ) How have you seen our Culture Change (1-2,Mike ) since, say first beginnings with AV? (1-7,F. Mallik) thanks (1-2,Mike ) See ya Aminata thanks! (1-3,Aminata Danquah) bye all. (1-7,F. Mallik) bye (1-6,Joanne ) That's a good question, Mike. (1-6,Joanne ) I've seen changes in specific areas. (1-6,Joanne ) Travel, for instance. (1-6,Joanne ) Blacks are traveling much more than they (1-6,Joanne ) used to, to a variety of new locations. (1-6,Joanne ) And even though we're accepted in many (1-6,Joanne ) more places than we have been in the past, (1-6,Joanne ) there are still questions (1-6,Joanne ) and feelings of ambivalence about some (1-6,Joanne ) places. (1-7,F. Mallik) hi (1-6,Joanne ) Beds and breakfasts, and inns, for instance. (1-6,Joanne ) Will we be welcomed? (1-6,Joanne ) Especially at places out in the country. (1-2,Mike ) good question! (1-6,Joanne ) We're traveling to Africa more now. (1-6,Joanne ) We're much more interested in our heritage. (1-7,F. Mallik) no problem lite (1-6,Joanne ) Black travel agencies and tour companies (1-6,Joanne ) are sprouting up all over. (1-7,F. Mallik) nyc (1-7,F. Mallik) and you (1-6,Joanne ) The magazine has responded to this change (1-6,Joanne ) by publishing travel supplements. (1-2,Mike ) So we are establishing a presence (1-6,Joanne ) We are. (1-6,Joanne ) We also published a book last year on (1-6,Joanne ) black heritage sites in the US and Canada. (1-2,Mike ) How can one buy that? (1-6,Joanne ) It's in all the major bookstores. (1-6,Joanne ) Very easy to find (1-6,Joanne ) In Their Footsteps: The American Visions (1-6,Joanne ) Guide to African-American Heritage Sites, (1-6,Joanne ) by Henry Chase, published by Henry Holt. (1-6,Joanne ) We're now working on a cookbook! (1-6,Joanne ) And I'd say that's another area in which I've (1-6,Joanne ) seen changes. (1-2,Mike ) Excellent! (1-6,Joanne ) Blacks used to be ashamed of our culinary (1-6,Joanne ) heritage. (1-6,Joanne ) We wanted to distance ourselves from (1-6,Joanne ) kitchen work. (1-6,Joanne ) But it's something of which we should be (1-6,Joanne ) proud. (1-2,Mike ) True (1-6,Joanne ) What we're discovering from our research is (1-6,Joanne ) that blacks were in charge of the kitchens. (1-6,Joanne ) Whites didn't want to do that work; we did (1-6,Joanne ) it. (1-7,F. Mallik) I'm interested in reading about efforts to unify Africans throughout the diaspora via the arts. (1-6,Joanne ) Of course, they taught us their ways of (1-6,Joanne ) cooking, and we incorporated that into what (1-6,Joanne ) we knew. (1-6,Joanne ) But we managed the kitchens. (1-6,Joanne ) We were resourceful. (1-6,Joanne ) That's an interesting prospect, Mallik. (1-2,Mike ) Malliks hits on an important topic, Unity. (1-6,Joanne ) And a great way to unite people. (1-6,Joanne ) Because art is universal. (1-6,Joanne ) Mallik, are you familiar with AV? (1-7,F. Mallik) yes I'v enjoyed it in the past (1-6,Joanne ) Then you know that we cover the arts (1-6,Joanne ) extensively. (1-6,Joanne ) Are you artist? (1-7,F. Mallik) yes I am (1-6,Joanne ) Aha! (1-2,Mike ) Great! (1-6,Joanne ) Have you ever seen the feature we do in (1-6,Joanne ) the August issue, "Portfolio"? (1-7,F. Mallik) missed it (1-6,Joanne ) That's our opportunity to feature a wide (1-6,Joanne ) range of artists in a single issue. (1-6,Joanne ) It's difficult to do all you want to do in a (1-6,Joanne ) bimonthly magazine. (1-6,Joanne ) Six issues a year just doesn't allow you to (1-6,Joanne ) cover what's out there. (1-6,Joanne ) And since we usually only feature one artist (1-6,Joanne ) per issue on a grand scale, we look forward (1-6,Joanne ) to August, when we can do more. (1-7,F. Mallik) where are you based? (1-5,Aubrey V.) Joanne..What do you do (1-5,Aubrey V.) to get coverage of other (1-5,Aubrey V.) artist in other cities? (1-2,Mike ) good Q Aubrey (1-6,Joanne ) We have "stringers" out there, Aubrey. (1-6,Joanne ) People who feed us information, let us know (1-6,Joanne ) who's hot, or what's hot. (1-6,Joanne ) For instance, Alvia Wardlaw, at the Dallas (1-6,Joanne ) Museum of Art, feeds us information. (1-6,Joanne ) Last year we did a story on Jean Lacy, who (1-6,Joanne ) designs stained glass windows. (1-7,F. Mallik) who do you have in NYC? (1-6,Joanne ) We're in contact with curators, art (1-6,Joanne ) collectors, gallery owners all over. (1-6,Joanne ) In NYC, we talk to June Kelly, Essie Green, (1-6,Joanne ) Lowery Sims, (1-6,Joanne ) We have freelance writers who follow art (1-6,Joanne ) and artists. (1-6,Joanne ) We work a lot with museums. (1-2,Mike ) Do you (everyone) visit Art Shows? Have not been, and feel I'm missing something (1-6,Joanne ) We keep an eye on exhibitions. (1-6,Joanne ) Mike, you should have caught the Black (1-6,Joanne ) Male Images exhibit at the Whitney. (1-6,Joanne ) Did you catch that one, Mallik? (1-6,Joanne ) (I don't think it traveled to Dallas, Aubrey.) (1-7,F. Mallik) no I missed it but many of my friends caught it (1-6,Joanne ) Quite controversial (1-2,Mike ) Interesting (1-7,F. Mallik) thats exactly what I heard about it (1-6,Joanne ) Mike, you should refer to the Calendar (1-6,Joanne ) section of the magazine for a listing of (1-6,Joanne ) what's happening in your area. (1-6,Joanne ) Lots of art openings in there. (1-2,Mike ) Will do! (1-2,Mike ) What led to bringing AV online? (1-7,F. Mallik) did you ever cover the Harlem School of the Arts (1-2,Mike ) mallik first (1-6,Joanne ) There's a piece in the next issue on a (1-6,Joanne ) collaboration between Toni Morrison, Max (1-6,Joanne ) Roach and Bill T. Jones that'll take place (1-6,Joanne ) inNYC in July. (1-6,Joanne ) No, but we did a story last year on Harlem (1-6,Joanne ) Textile Works. (1-6,Joanne ) Harlem has so many stories! (1-6,Joanne ) Sometimes I feel that we're showing (1-6,Joanne ) favoritism by visiting Harlem so often. (1-6,Joanne ) We've covered the Dance Theatre of (1-6,Joanne ) Harlem, the Apollo Theatre, (1-6,Joanne ) Bringing AV on-line was the result of the (1-6,Joanne ) inspiration of AV's publisher and editor in (1-6,Joanne ) chief. (1-6,Joanne ) Timothy Jenkins and Gary Puckrein. (1-6,Joanne ) They recognized the need for us to keep up (1-6,Joanne ) with the times, with the technological (1-6,Joanne ) revolution, and they pursued a relationship (1-2,Mike ) What effect has it have on AV,goals direction, etc.? (1-6,Joanne ) with CompuServe. (1-6,Joanne ) On the magazine's goals and directions? (1-2,Mike ) Yes (1-2,Mike ) How has it affected readership, (1-2,Mike ) more interest in the online world? (1-6,Joanne ) I believe so. (1-6,Joanne ) At this point, I think it's difficult to extract (1-6,Joanne ) motives and influences. (1-6,Joanne ) That's why I'm hesitating. (1-6,Joanne ) Keeping abreast of the threads on-line gives (1-6,Joanne ) me ideas for the magazine. (1-6,Joanne ) It lets me know what people are thinking, (1-6,Joanne ) what they're most interested in. (1-2,Mike ) Back issue articles seem to be wonderfully (1-2,Mike ) archived in the History Library Section. (1-2,Mike ) (I uploaded some before we opended ) (1-6,Joanne ) The on-line world helped convince us of the (1-6,Joanne ) merits of opening a computers and (1-6,Joanne ) technology department in the magazine. (1-2,Mike ) The History is captured. (1-6,Joanne ) In many of the libraries, I believe, Mike. (1-6,Joanne ) Maybe you all focused on history. (1-2,Mike ) What can we (readership) look forward (1-2,Mike ) toin the technology dept in the magazine. (1-6,Joanne ) But we have focused on history over the (1-6,Joanne ) years. (1-6,Joanne ) Already, that's a really fun department. (1-6,Joanne ) I want to use it to keep those of us already (1-6,Joanne ) on-line and involved abreast of (1-6,Joanne ) developments in the industry. (1-6,Joanne ) But I also want to pull those who have little (1-6,Joanne ) to no knowledge of what's going on into our (1-6,Joanne ) fold. (1-6,Joanne ) The next issue will have a story on Alan (1-6,Joanne ) Shaw, an MIT and Harvard grad in (1-6,Joanne ) Dorchester, Mass., who created a computer (1-6,Joanne ) network in his neighborhood. (1-2,Mike ) excellent! (1-6,Joanne ) So far, the network has been used to fight (1-6,Joanne ) crime, to create a jobs bulletin board, (1-6,Joanne ) What a great idea! (1-6,Joanne ) And it is a model for other neighborhoods in (1-6,Joanne ) other cities. (1-2,Mike ) Does the Talk to AV section Supplement (1-2,Mike ) sort supplement the new Tech Section of (1-2,Mike ) the Magazine? Yes that story is sure to be (1-2,Mike ) interesting on the computer network! (1-6,Joanne ) What a great story that combines (1-6,Joanne ) technology and human interest, I think. (1-6,Joanne ) It should. (1-6,Joanne ) As you know, Mike, this forum is still (1-6,Joanne ) relatively new, and we're still fine tuning it (1-6,Joanne ) and exploring ways to integrate the forum (1-6,Joanne ) with the magazine. (1-2,Mike ) Yes (1-6,Joanne ) We intend to use the Talk to AmVisions (1-6,Joanne ) section in better ways and more extensively. (1-6,Joanne ) That's a goal. (1-2,Mike ) What does Joanne, think of AV,The Online World, (1-2,Mike ) etc? (wondering about new challenges, goals?) (1-6,Joanne ) Another computers and technology story we (1-6,Joanne ) have coming up is on entrepreneurs on the (1-6,Joanne ) info hiway. (1-2,Mike ) interesting! (1-6,Joanne ) I am so glad we're here! (1-6,Joanne ) This forum has opened up new worlds for (1-6,Joanne ) me. (1-6,Joanne ) And it has encouraged me to explore. (1-6,Joanne ) A year ago, I knew very little about being (1-6,Joanne ) on-line. (1-6,Joanne ) Goals for the forum and AV? (1-2,Mike ) Yes and Goals for yourself (1-6,Joanne ) Well, we certainly want to reach a point (1-6,Joanne ) where we can deliver AV on-line, graphics (1-6,Joanne ) and all. (1-6,Joanne ) We want to continue to build our archives. (1-6,Joanne ) We want to create more of a presence (1-6,Joanne ) between the two. (1-2,Mike ) I see. (1-6,Joanne ) Right now, many of our subscribers don't (1-6,Joanne ) know much about our online endeavors, (1-6,Joanne ) and I'm not sure how many of our members (1-6,Joanne ) here know about the magazine. (1-6,Joanne ) For myself? (1-6,Joanne ) Hmmmm ... (1-6,Joanne ) I have so many ideas for growth. (1-6,Joanne ) And I think many of my goals are (1-6,Joanne ) synonymous with those of the magazine and (1-6,Joanne ) the forum. (1-6,Joanne ) I would like to see the two grow together, (1-6,Joanne ) and I want to have a hand in that. (1-6,Joanne ) As I said, I'm learning as we go along. (1-2,Mike ) We all are! (1-2,Mike ) Wow we gone almost 1 1/2 hours! (1-6,Joanne ) Didn't feel like it at all! (1-2,Mike ) Mallik any more Q's? Hope we have all enjoyed this! (1-2,Mike ) I did!
